9:33 AM (1202 days, 11h, 23min ago)

The wait is finally over!

  • Mood: Excited
  • Music: Serina playing Mario Brothers on DS

Yes, I finally went to orientation yesterday and now I am an official General Motors employee. I go in for my first actual day of work tonight and they are already requesting vounteers for saturday. I am on third shift. I know some people will think that is terrible but it's not. I wanted third shift. One reason is because if your late once in your first 90 days your fired. Well, third shift is my garuntee that I won't be late. If I had to get up at 4am every morning it would kill me. I go to bed at 4am most of the time. So third shift won't be too hard on me. My husband who worked thirds for seven years is trying to convince me that it will be hard but he actually like the day light. I don't. Too much sun and I end up with a migraine.

Everything has gone so well for me and my family the last few days, knock on wood, that I am afraid when everything starts to fall apart it is going to be terrible. Hopefully, for my sake, everything will continue to run smoothly until march 31 2007 when my job is scheduled to end. GM said they were keeping all of our records on file and in the event that they need temps at a later date we won't have to go through the hiring process again. They will just call us in. Apparently this particular plant has never kept records of  its temps before so this is really good news.

I think the babysitter is going to work out really well. So far the children really like her and she and I have gotten on well. I wouldn't be able to leave my kids with someone I didn't like.

So here is the schedule for the next few days.

Today:

Clean the house inside and out until 5pm... Rest for awhile... dinner at 6pm... then I am off to nap untill 9pm while the husband puts the kids to bed at 8pm... I leave for work when I get up at 9pm

At 6am I get out of work and my husband goes to work. His grandmother is coming to sit with the kids until I get home. When I get here I wake them up and get serina ready for school, and Wyatt ready for the babysitter. I drop Serina off at school at 7:30am where the babysitter will also take Wyatt. I come home, go to bed. The babysitter will pick serina and her own son up from school at 12pm and take them home. I'll get up at 4pm and go get the kids. Dinner at 6, baths at 7, bed at 8, I leave for work at 9.

Rofl wow that is complicated. Tomorrow will be our first run through this process and I hope all goes smoothly. I am going to drive the little truck tonight. My husband said that if I turn the radio up really really loud it will keep me awake. So I am going to try that on my first night. I know it will be the hardest. My husband totaled his truck on his first night on first shift so he is really worried. He is going to call me when he leaves the house and talk to me until I get home, so I wont be able to turn the radio up then, but I have to do some running around after he gets to work so maybe it will help. If my eyeballs are vibrating I won't be able to sleep. Right?

I think I am going to make a CD of music I can't help but sing to. and maybe run to walmart and by a set of headphones for my CD player, the dog ate mine, so I can listen at work.

Bright Blessings,

~Jezzilin~
